Thank you for visiting my website!
I never was much good at sticking to one topic, so therefore it’s really no surprise that my books, while firmly rooted in a historical setting, will often meander through the alluring fields of romance, plunge into a mystery, hang on the jagged cliff of suspense, sail off on an adventure, all while probing the vast and wondrous depths of the imagination. As an author, it is my great pleasure to be able to lift you from the twenty-first century and transport you to the past. Whether it be to a forlorn lighthouse teetering on the edge of Cape Wrath, or to the tumultuous Borders of Scotland in the reign of James IV, it will be a journey unexpected, and one, I hope, well worth taking.
The Angel of Blythe Hall
In the year 1492, young Scottish noblewoman Isabeau Blythe is at last returning to her ancestral home on the Borders. Now heir to Blythe Hall, Isabeau is determined to leave behind her family’s extraordinary past. Their peculiar relations with the fantastical creatures commonly known as angels was the ruin of both her father and her brother. Isabeau is confident she can assume control of Blythe Hall and its people, stave off marriage until the moment it suits her, and bring the turbulent clans of the Borders under control. Yet fate thwarts her even as she enters the imposing gates of Blythe Hall. Incensed upon learning that Sir George Douglas, the knight seeking to be the next Lord Blythe, has been tracking her movements, Isabeau is further disturbed at the appearance of her magnificently beguiling brother. Worse, Julius reveals he’s on the hunt for an angel. Isabeau begins to experience wild visions of a strange man whom her heart inexplicably longs for. With Sir George’s army outside her gates, she summons help from the illusive man of her visions: Gabriel, who holds the secret of Blythe Hall.
“Absolutely fantastic! A beautifully written novel that draws you in from the first word and doesn’t let go until the last spellbinding page. I loved every minute of it. If you enjoy historical fiction with visceral historical detail, evocative gothic atmosphere, intriguing mystery, thrilling adventure, heart-tugging romance, and a mystical twist, you won’t want to miss this one.”
—Monica McCarty, New York Times Bestselling author of The Highland Guard Series on The Angel of Blythe Hall

The Exile of Sara Stevenson
In 1814, Sara Stevenson, the well-bred but high-spirited daughter of celebrated Scottish lighthouse designer Robert Stevenson, falls in love with a common sailor, Thomas Crichton. On the day of their clandestine elopement, Thomas mysteriously disappears, leaving Sara heartbroken, secretly pregnant, and at the mercy of her overbearing family. Refusing to relinquish her hopes that Thomas will someday return to her, Sara is banished to an eerie lighthouse on lonely and remote Cape Wrath. There she meets William Campbell, the reclusive yet dashing light-keeper who incites her ire–and interest. Soon Sara begins to accept her life on the cape and her growing attraction to William–until a mystifying package from an Oxford antiquarian arrives, giving intriguing clues to Thomas’s whereabouts. Through her correspondence with the antiquarian, Sara slowly uncovers the story of her beloved’s fate. But what she doesn’t immediately grasp is that these letters travel an even greater distance than she could have imagined–as the boundaries between time and space unravel to forge an incredible connection between a woman and a man many years apart.
